Bucknell P3 Group was formed in December 2006 (local Coordinator: Mike
Starr (01547 530179)
A P3 Group consists of local volunteers who liaise with Shropshire
County Council to help improve the condition of Countrywide Access and
Rights of Way in their area.
Bucknell and Bedstone parishes are designated an “Action Area” for
2007-8 (along with Stowe, Hopton Castle and Clungunford). During this
period the Council will improve the condition and accessibility of the
Rights of Way in these parishes. This will entail renewing or
refurbishing stiles, gates, sign posts etc.
When this has been done, the P3 Group will monitor the paths and assist
in their maintenance where feasible. This could include removing
undergrowth, repairing stiles etc. The Council runs courses and provide
the necessary tools.
First Working Party - Saturday 29th December 2007
Mike
Starr had 'found' a rather overgrown bridal path in Darky Dale, and felt
that just after Christmas was a great opportunity to burn off some
excess calories!!
Mike,
Geri Graham and Ken (a friend of Mikes) gathered at the appointed time
and off we went.

Mike
convinced us that we'd need two days to complete the job - in the event
we completed the task in about 2 hours.

At present the group comprises 7 volunteers. Anyone who has an interest
in our local Rights of Way and wishes to join the group should contact
Mike Starr.
Alternatively, if anyone simply has any comments to make about the
condition of the paths in the village and surrounding area, then please
let Mike Starr know.
